The Sepia Stains Tarot

This is a faded photograph, aged tones, beautiful & unique tarot that features exotic performers and antique & enchanted artifacts from a world created within my Black Ibis graphic novel. It is light on traditional symbolism and works well as an oracle or meditation deck aside from the standard tarot. This was a passion project of mine to create a tangible piece of my fiction that could be held and felt. It is also my first tarot deck project. You can see all of the card artwork here or scroll down to learn more about the deck.

ABOUT THIS DECK: The Sepia Stains tarot was the first deck project I worked on. It was created as a companion piece to my graphic novel The Black Ibis. The symbolism is very sparse and non-traditional. I often recommend it more for meditation or for the skilled tarot reader who feels drawn to the deck. The major arcana features characters from the graphic novel and a few real world characters such as Melora Creager – main cellist for Rasputina, character and creator Dr. Mangor, Acid Poptart’s Voodoo Baby character, and artist and former Abney Park singer Eliza Gauger. The minors use story artifacts as pips and propaganda posters used in my story. The top of the card airship artwork is by very talented artist (and my hubby) Myke Amend from his Airships & Tentacles acrylic & painted art book.

DECK DETAILS: The cards are 2.75″ x 4.75″ in size. They’re printed on 300gsm card-stock that is sturdy and has a smooth finish. Cards have a blue core that helps prevent transparency of the card so both sides feature brilliant colors. They’re very easy to shuffle and good for everyday use. This listing is for the second edition of the deck and features the deck and companion book. Thank you for your interest in adopting a deck!
